Paula Anta received with the highest qualification her PhD in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (2015), completing the European Doctorate in collaboration with the Akademie de Künste in Berlin and the University of Saarbrücken.
Paula Anta’s work has been shown both in individual and collective exhibitions as well as in institutional venues such as in the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain in Washington D.C. (Washington D.C., USA), Nirox Foundation (Johannesburg, South Africa), Donwahi Foundation (Abidjan, Ivory Coast), LagosPhoto (Lagos, Nigeria), Dakar Biennale at the Boribana Museum (Dakar, Senegal), Art D’Egypt (Cairo, Egypt), CCPE Rosario (Rosario, Argentina), CCE Santiago (Santiago, Chile), Spanish Cultural Centre (Montevideo, Uruguay), Nobel Prize Museum (Stockholm, Sweden), Viersen Municipal Art Centre (Viersen, Germany), Cité Internationale Universitaire (Paris, France), Chateau D’eau Municipal Gallery (Toulouse, France), Giovani Fattori Museum (Livorno, Italy), Spanish Academy in Rome (Rome, Italy).
In Spain her work has been shown in the most important art centers and museums such as CA2M, Tabacalera, Matadero, Real Jardín Botánico, Museo Lázaro Galdiano, Círculo de Bellas Artes (Madrid), Casa Vicens, CCCB (Barcelona), Bolit Centro de Arte Contemporáneo (Girona), Sala Amos Salvador (Logroño), Sa Nostra Cultural Centre (Palma de Mallorca), Fundación Cerezales (León), Naves de Gamazo (Santander), La Laboral (Gijón), Niemeyer Centre (Avilés), Domus Artium DA2 (Salamanca), Quintanar Palace (Segovia), Las Cigarreras Cultural Centre (Alicante), Molinos del Río Museum (Murcia), Casa África (Las Palmas), as well as in several editions of the international photography festival, Photoespaña.
Paula Anta has earned the most important photography awards and accolades in Spain, highlighting the 2nd Flora Festival Award (2025), Culture Prize of Madrid Government (2023), the XI International Biennial Prize for Contemporary Photography Pilar Citoler Collection (2021), the International Photography Award of the Unesco Extremadura (2020). In addition, she has been granted several reputable scholarships for art creation, such as the Scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Spanish Academy in Rome (2011-2012) or the Scholarship for Visual Arts in the Spanish College in Paris (2012-2013) among others.
