Description
The work starts from a tribute to the writer Gianni Rodari and his fable Il semaforo blu, (Favole al Telefono, Einaudi, 1962) with which the artists Antonello Ghezzi wish that this object would come out of the printed paper to become reality.
This object has been taken off the road, the place par excellence where it meets the world, to light up and glow blue, a light that gives the green light to fly, to those who dare.
The three “eyes” that usually show red, yellow and green have been replaced by three mirrors that show three different star maps, lit from the back.
This is the map of how the stars will appear above the city of Bologna in 2030, 2120 and 3020, or between 10, 100 and 1000 years from the year of production of the work.
For the artists it is a leap towards the future, near and far, where our gaze leads us to imagine and therefore fly, an invitation to take care of this future and its stars.
What will they see when they look at us?
