Christian Achenbach, b. 1986 is a German artist. He studied at the Berlin University of the Arts from 2001 to 2007 with Burkhardt Held, Daniel Richter and graduated as a master student of Anselm Reyle. He lives and works in Berlin.
Christian Achenbach is a sculptor and painter. With his artistic roots in 20th century art history, Achenbach composes his own aesthetic symphony in a fresh postmodern perspective. Achenbach's creative process is reminiscent of the world of musical composition, where the multiplicity of violently clashing colors and shapes emphasizes the shift in tonality, creating a materiality of sound.
Each artwork presents childlike joy and freedom, his curiosity about form and material led him to glass, a working technique he discovered during his residency @ WhiteSpaceBlackBox and perfected in the years since.
Works by Christian Achenbach are represented in renowned collections in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland, Italy, Great Britain, the USA and India as well as in China and Abu Dhabi.
