There are no longer any taboos to break in art, no longer any boundaries to exceed. Hence, art is no longer capable of shocking, all conceivable taboo breaches and position references have already been done.
With his art, Christian Achenbach can only be aware of where he stands in the course of art history, record quotes, create different contexts which nevertheless bear his signature. Achenbachs art is a very sensitive transformation.
